New Bankera cards have already arrived

This week, a major crackdown on cryptocurrency related card providers happened, and our main card issuer (WaveCrest) suspended all cards issued to cryptocurrency companies. It was a major shock for the industry and especially providers who were only offering prepaid cards. However, the effect of this for Bankera/SpectroCoin will be minor as we already have an agreement with a new card issuer in place, as well as we are not solely a prepaid card provider.

Bankera card arrived

In our business, we always have to think a few steps ahead, so we already had a plan B. For last four months, we have been closely working with another card issuer to support us in issuing cards globally, and we have already received the first shipment of cards:

Bankera cards arrived

Currently, we are working on the new cards‘ technical integration into the SpectroCoin/Bankera infrastructure as well as all of the logistic issues. The cards are already expected to reach cardholders within this quarter. Altogether, all of this shows that Bankera/SpectroCoin is several steps ahead of any other competitor. After we acquire our upcoming bank license, we will be playing in a different league. Time has shown, once more, that while others are promising, Bankera is delivering.

After integration, the cards will be issued in this order:

  • Replacement cards for SpectroCoin clients;
  • Bankera contributors (with contributions of 1000EUR or more);
  • The rest of Bankera contributors;
  • Public.
